Often I drew on Western art and design for visual inspiration, but I realized why not from my own culture? This insight spurred the development of “Sari-Sari”, the Tagalog word for “variety”. Sari-Sari is an online platform for where Filipino creators and their works can be highlighted, which users can use for inspiration by using the built-in account and mood board functions. This blog is part of a content marketing strategy for the clothing brand Artwork, which often highlights Filipino culture and artists in their products.
/ The visual design is inspired by Artwork’s iconic black and white illustrated tees. The design embraces both the screen’s 2-dimensional space and the physicality of materials used for creating, like paper. This is a dynamic backdrop that still gives room for the featured artwork’s craft to speak for themselves. Finding what is true about the brand’s visual aesthetic and their mission was essential to differentiate a digital product in a crowded digital market.
